Let’s talk about Laryngeal Position. The “U” Vowel…

Updated: Jan 11

As you can see and hear by the video, "titling" the sound, using vocal cover doesn't fully determine the colours you produce solely. BUT! The adduction of the vocal folds that create a more intense sound in the larynx can allow the voice to become a more full, operatic sound which can only be used by finding a lower laryngeal position.

Both versions of "u" are very useful to finding a more relaxed, lowered sound which encourages us to find relaxation in our upper register rather than reaching for the top.

Have fun playing around fine-tuning your voice to explore the different colours these nuances give you in your vocal journey! 😀😀😀
